Laughter for a Change (L4C) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that uses improvisational comedy training as a tool for learning, healing, and community building.

The L4C Origin Story

In 2007, Ed Greenberg was introduced to Eric Kabera, a Rwandan filmmaker who was looking for a “comedy mentor” to work with performing artists from the first generation post Rwandan genocide. Eric asked Ed to come to Rwanda to “help my people learn to laugh again.” As a U.S. State Department Cultural Envoy, Ed mentored twenty talented young Rwandans to create a very successful improv comedy show. Deeply moved by that experience, Ed returned to America and founded Laughter for a Change.
